Marlous Teh has an impressive CV. She has multiple qualifications, including a Master of Commerce in Marketing, Business Management and Organisations, is fluent in four languages and, before commencing her one-on-one coaching business, worked internationally across Europe, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia in various government, university, SME, corporate and charity roles.
Professional career highlights include:
- Working for the Dutch Consulate in Shanghai
- Consulting to SMEs and startups
- International recruitment and business development for Australian University in Sydney
- Professional Conference Organiser and Business Relations Director in Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia
- Leading multi-million-dollar fundraising events, campaigns and partnerships for major Australian charities
- Consulting and facilitating to corporates in the finance and wealth management sector
- From a high-paying corporate career with the status and lifestyle to match, to pivoting into fundraising millions of dollars for the most personally-aligned major Australian mental health charities, Marlous appeared to be living the dream.
But after two decades of 'having it all' – money, status and lifestyle, something didn’t feel right.
Not only did Marlous burn out twice, but she also realised she was subscribed to the ‘hustle culture’ and living someone else’s version of so-called success.
